Yeah!! I have my first coloring book up on InstaFreebie! Not only are these definitely for adults, the ebook contains a link to download each pattern. That way if you mess it up, the kids spill on it, or your dog chews it, you can print it again!

This is going to be a regular thing. We will publish a small InstaFreebie one each month and at least one larger coloring book on Amazon. I will also put a free page up on my blog.

This is going to be so much fun and I hope you will send me pix of what you do with them. But BE WARNED - these are intricate designs and not for large crayons!

Have fun coloring!!

I am very excited to be publishing some new non-fiction. In my case, I am publishing my recipes grouped into small cookbooks. If you are like me, you want new recipes to play with and try. So I am going to publish a cookbook each month, with twenty recipes for people and one for pets.

I love my cats and dogs! They need fun food also, but only things that are good for them! When I am cooking, they are VERY attentive, as you can see!

Watch for a new free recipe here in the next few days!

One of My Favorite Books of the Last 6 months!

One of my favorite series this year has been the FBI Witch Series by the talented TS Paul. This paranormal and magical series is well written and addicting. Be warned - it will suck you in and leave you wanting more!

The prequel is a fun short story which introduces Agatha, a talented young witch that does not fit in well with her family and community.
 Available on Amazon

The second book in the series takes this engaging character into her second year at the FBI academy. The adventure continues with her education and special assignments that add dimension to her behavior and make you love her more.
 Available on Amazon!

Read these to amuse and transport you to another world!

Innana's Circle Game - More Sparks of Creativity

I was pleased to be part of both Inanna's Circle Games as a member of the 20BooksTo50K group. It was a wonderful, crazy, packed time of 15 authors coming together to create our own stories, using a mystery box of scenes, snippets, and characters. My recently published book, We Are Not Prey, is the outcome of my entry in that anthology. Many of the other authors have also published their entry as either short stories or novels.

One of those fellow game survivors is Craig Martelle, an extremely gifted writer of thrillers and science fiction. His entry in Inanna's Circle Game brought me to tears and triumph. The fully published version of his standalone story was just as powerful.

I hope you will find time to read it and experience the immersion into an alien view and the very human emotions that make this SF a well-crafted study into love, loss, and redemption.

The Slippery Slope of Writing Fiction

Starting a blog is the beginning of something that seems to me to be an irrevocable step. It is so much easier to stay remote from the people that read your work, to keep a layer of anonymity between you and the rest of the world. Starting a blog is a commitment. A promise to share - your work, your ideas, yourself!

This exposure was not something that I have needed , or wanted, to do for the many years I have been writing. Up until May of 2016 I have only written nonfiction. Scientific, professional discussions of complex systems, concepts, and processes. There was no need to become more involved with my readers. In fact, the professional community looks a bit askance at personal involvement, as if becoming a person in that environment lessens your credibility.

That comfortable, professional and remote world changed for me in May of 2016. Michael Anderle and the 20Books group sucked me in! First I was helping writers to be productive, then I was doing more editing, and finally, I got pushed at trying my hand at writing stories. What a major change in my life!!

I chose to embrace the challenge and the change. To explore fiction and see if anyone wanted to read what I felt, thought, and wrote. So this blog is my step in coming out from behind my podium, my desk. It is my exposure to those that wish to know me.

I am a flawed human being. Living for over 6 decades, it is impossible to avoid accumulating regrets, mistakes, and scars. However, I know that I am not alone in my shortcomings, blindness, and behavior. My work reflects that and I hope will find a resonance in those that want to feel, explore, and grow with me.
